Since the 2008 financial crisis, Amsterdam housing production has been shifting slowly towards small scale private initiative. Citizens are the new developers. Three families decided to combine forces in a three house scale development.
The process to come to a design has been carefully designed as well, to come to a perfect balance of shared and individual interest. After deciding on a shared building method, the designs have been individualized after personal agenda. This created three houses, three family members, but all very different.
The unique condition of having its largest front facade on the south-faced garden asked for a informal front facade.
